Bishop
Vernon E. Kennebrew
With warm pleasure, we
cordially welcome you to our website. We indeed praise
the Lord God Almighty for his matchless grace that gave
us his only begotten Son, Jesus to be the Savior and
Lord of our lives. The Southwestern Diocese was
established by the action of our National Convention in
1938 under the leadership of Bishop E.W. Butler. Our
geographic areas cover the states of Arkansas,
Louisiana, and Texas, where we currently have thirty-one
churches and missions.
One of the outstanding
uniqueness the Southwestern Diocese is our broad
spectrum of diversity. Of particular note is the
contrast of demographics, varying from rural to small
town to metropolitan area churches. Ours is truly a
melting pot of farmers, blue collar laborers, skilled
workers, white collar professionals, and advance degreed
experts. This profile represents our attempt to reach
all persons at all levels of life. The Apostle Paul
states in I Corinthians 9:22b “I am made all things to
all men, that I might by all means save some.” This is
the Diocese church that we are seeking to become, one
that is growing the kingdom of God by reaching out to
everyone.
As we move forward by
focusing on the core values of COCHUSA:
Worship,
Holiness, Evangelism, Accountability,
and Training, it is our hope and prayer that all
of our members will be committed to reaching a dark and
decaying world with the transforming gospel of Jesus
Christ.
Sincerely,

Bishop Vernon E. Kennebrew
